The Aputure Amaran Ray 120c is a compact 120W RGB COB light that weighs only 600g, bundled with an Octa Dome 30 softbox, diffusion and grid. It is brighter than the older 150c in a far smaller body, and runs from AC, USB-C PD or 12–24V DC.
Why choose the Amaran Ray 120c?
The Amaran Ray 120c draws up to 140W (maximum) and covers a colour temperature range of 2300 – 10,000K, extendable to 1800 – 20,000K (CCT+). Colour rendering is rated at CRI 95, TLCI 95, SSI 80/87, TM-30 94/100, so skin tones, products and set colours stay true on camera. Measured output: 6850 lux at 1m (3200K); 6520 lux at 1m (5600K).
Control options include onboard TFT, FlowTurn knob, amaran app, Bluetooth, NFC, with a wireless range of up to 80m (Bluetooth). Power: AC adapter, USB-C PD 3.0, or 12 – 24V DC; optional battery. Cooling: Active fan, 28 dBA at max output.
Modifier mount: Bowens S. Stand mounting: 1/4-inch-20 thread; included 5/8-inch swivel mount. It measures 14.5 x 11.4 x 5.1 cm (fixture) and weighs 0.6kg (fixture).
