A 40″ C-stand — short for century stand — supplied as a complete kit: the stand, a 2.5″ grip head and a 40″ grip arm. Between them they hold flags, silks, reflectors and small lights wherever a plain stand cannot reach.
The turtle base is a quick-release base: the legs detach from the column, so the stand breaks down flat and travels in a fraction of the space a fixed-base C-stand takes. The base also carries a 28mm junior receiver, so on its own it works as a low stand — drop a junior-spigot fixture straight into it for floor-level work.
The 40″ grip arm is 16mm (5/8″) steel tube, machined to a deliberately rough finish so a grip head bites rather than slips, and it ends in a faceted hex stud that stops a fixture rotating once it is out on the arm.
The 2.5″ grip head is a pair of rotating aluminium discs on a 16mm (5/8″) receiver. Four V-shaped jaws take 5/8″, 1/2″, 3/8″ or 1/4″ studs and tubing, with teeth that hold whatever sits between the plates. An oversized T-handle running on roller bearings gives you the torque to lock it properly.
