Tamron 12-20mm Nikon Z Lens – Ultra wide-angle zoom

The Tamron 12-20mm Nikon Z lens (Tamron Model A084) brings a 12-20mm f/2.8 ultra wide-angle zoom to Nikon Z-mount mirrorless cameras. It is designed for photographers and content creators who shoot landscapes, architecture, interiors and astrophotography, and it forms part of Tamron’s Di III range for full-frame and APS-C bodies.

Why choose the Tamron 12-20mm Nikon Z?

An f/2.8 maximum aperture gives you control over depth of field for subject separation and helps in lower light, while the 12-20mm range covers the focal lengths that matter most for landscapes. Focusing is handled by Tamron’s VXD linear motor (Voice-coil eXtreme-torque Drive), delivering responsive autofocus for stills and quiet, smooth focus transitions for video. Without an optical stabiliser the lens stays compact and light, and it works alongside the in-body image stabilisation found in many current camera bodies.

At just 585g and 121.3mm long, it is easy to carry all day, and a minimum focus distance of 0.18m (wide) / 0.28m (tele) lets you get close for dramatic perspectives and detail shots.

Built for Nikon Z-mount cameras

The Nikon Z version of this lens supports the camera maker’s autofocus features such as eye detection, as well as in-camera lens corrections, on compatible bodies. Always update your camera to the latest firmware for full compatibility. Tamron Lens Utility compatibility lets you customise lens controls and update lens firmware. Why choose the Tamron 12-20mm f/2.8 Di III Lens for Nikon Z?

Glass makes a bigger difference to your images than almost any other upgrade. Because of that, the Tamron 12-20mm f/2.8 Di III Lens for Nikon Z is worth a close look if you want sharper detail, better low-light results or a new creative angle. In addition, a lens outlasts several camera bodies, so it is a long-term investment in your kit.

Who is it for?

Choose it if you shoot travel, events, portraits or everyday scenes and want more control over depth of field and framing. Content creators will also value it for video work.

Buying tips

Before you order, check that the mount matches your camera body. Also consider the filter thread size, because protective and ND filters are sized to it. Finally, a lens hood and a cleaning kit help keep the front element in top condition.
