An articulating arm with a wheel tensioner instead of a lever. The rubberised wheel takes up less space than a lever and is less likely to hook on something, and it gives better torque when you are tightening bare-handed in the cold. One wheel controls the tension on all three joints in the arm.
Back the wheel off slightly and the arm still holds, so you can nudge a light or camera into position without taking its weight. Tighten it and all three movements lock together.
Both ends carry a 5/8″ (16mm) ball-joint stud that pivots through 90° and rotates a full 360°, so the stud can sit square to the arm or in line with it. One stud is tapped 3/8″, the other 1/4″. Each has six milled flats to stop a mounted accessory rotating, and both drop straight into a baby socket. The centre elbow rotates a full 360° on thermoplastic friction discs with an anti-slip rosette pattern.
